Department of Transportation altrans NOTICE OF PUBLIC OPEN HOUSE FOR STATE ROUTE 70 SAFETY PROJECT NORTH OF MARYSVILLE IN YUBA COUNTY WHAT IS BEING PROPOSED Caltrans proposes to improve safety and bring State Route 70 to current highway standards from 0.2 miles north of Laurellen Road to South Honcut Creek Bridge at the Yuba County/Butte County line. This project will provide a 14-foot wide center two-way left turn lane, two 12-foot wide travel lanes and 8-foot wide shoulders. The project will relocate utility poles and roadside ditches away from the highway to provide a clear recovery zone for vehicles. Right turn accelera- tion and deceleration lanes will be added at critical locations and passing lanes will be considered at specific locations along the route.
