Chef Philip Milano first discovered a desire for cooking at the young age of 15 while cooking at home with his Mom. While spending time in his home kitchen Phil realized he had a natural talent for discovering new flavors and creating new recipes. He was soon cooking dinner for his family nightly.
Phil had his very first job in a professional kitchen at Mr. Steak in Yuba City, CA as a Chef’s Assistant. After working there for about a year he became the Lead Broiler Cook. Once he got the “taste” of working in a professional kitchen Phil knew his passion and his life would be working in and eventually running a professional kitchen on his own.
Once Phil had more experience under his belt he eventually ventured to Sacramento. While in Sacramento Phil was a Corporate Manager for Strings and managed 7 Strings restaurants. But Phil soon realized that he missed being in the kitchen and went to work at the Marriott Hotel and helped to open their 4 star Italian restaurant Formaggio where he became the Lead Line cook. Phil was then offered a Lead Sous Chef position at the Sacramento landmark the Delta King. Phil worked on the Delta King for 5 years before joining the team at the Ranch House.
Phil took over the Head Chef position at the Ranch House in January of 2012. Since he has taken over as Head Chef the Ranch House as flourished and has once again become a main attraction in Yuba City. Phil has created a new menu and has daily specials. He thrives on everything being made fresh and by hand daily.
