TOWN SPRAYING SET TO BEGIN 2020 Spray Schedule Green Swimming Pools Town Fogging- Thursdays A neglected swimming pool can produce over 100,000 mosquitoes throughout the summer. Our District utilizes an aerial photography contractor to identify green pools. Wheatland, Olivehurst, Linda, East Marysville, Live Oak, Sutter, Tierra Buena, Plumas Lake, and South Yuba City (Hillcrest). Other nights will be added if/when necessary. Ag Fogging- Tuesdays & Wednesdays Agricultural ground fogging occurs weekly on Tuesday & Wednesday nights in rural areas of the District and also in the towns of Robbins Photos are then used by staff to direct them to pools where mosquitoes may be breeding. Our staff is currently visiting residents of suspect pools and Meridian. Aerial Spraying- May occur on any night Includes agricultural areas north of Marysville, south of Linda/Olivehurst, southeast of Plumas Lake, and west and south of Yuba City. Applications are initiated when mosquito abundance or disease activity becomes elevated. to arrange for an inspection and treatment if necessary. There is no charge, fee, or penalty. District staff is trained to treat mosquito-producing pools quickly and safely. You can still get your pool ready for swimming later. All applications are made according to label directions by trained and certified employees and contractors using EPA registered materials. Aerial spraying over agricultural areas will begin in late June. Spraying begins at sunset, lasts up to 3 hours OF MOSQUITO D's PROTECTION and will continue weekly until mosquito THE numbers drop off in mid-September. All applications are based on mosquito abundance and disease activity. DRESS DEFEND Notification Sign-Up When the District schedules insecticide applications by air, plans to fog in urban/suburban areas not regularly sprayed, or releases a Public Service Announcement, subscribers will receive a notice by email.
