Paid Advertisement SCSOS Update Superintendent Tom Reusser Sutter County Superintendent of Schools During this challenging time, Sutter County Superintendent of Schools continues to move forward with our number one priority: Doing what's best for kids. During this time of uncertainty, SCSOS Special Education Department has continued to support students and families. Students have been provided with packets and/ or technology based academic supports. Virtual classrooms are available to support students and families. Parents have been given training in the use of technology to assist in supporting students. SCSOS employees have supported our families through phone calls, z0om meetings and videos. Over 100 chrome books have been provided to students. Speech services have been provided through zoom and video presentations and hands on use of technology programs. Psych services have been provided through student/parent emotional support and participating in virtual classrooms. Behavior services have been provided through phone calls, videos and virtual classrooms. We continue to collaborate and creating videos for social/ with Family Soup for family support. SCOOS Special Education has three hotlines that parents can call if they have questions. The general hotline is: (530) 645-4055. The hotline for Spanish speaking families is: (530) 812-2647. The hotline for Punjabi speaking families is: (530) 812-2603. Feather River Academy continues to support our students during this time. All teachers have created Google classrooms to interact with students and give assignments. Teachers make phone calls to students at least twice each week. Teachers host Friday zoom meetings to connect with students. FRA is providing hotspots and chrome books to families to be able to support distance learning. FRA staff are delivering meals to families every Thursday. Our SSO Department is providing counseling and family supports for FRA students.
