Paid Advertisement A Message from Superintendent Tom Reusser Superintendent Tom Reusser Sutter County Superintendent of Schools Sutter County Schools are currently beginning the 2020-2021 school year in a distance learning model. Governor Gavin Newsom announced on Friday, July 17, that counties on California's COVID-19 monitoring watch list will not be allowed to open with in-person instruction Unfortunately, Sutter County is on that list. As a county, we continue to work towards flattening the COVID-19 curve. Dr. Luu continues to monitor the data and will let us know when it is safe for our students to return to in-person schooling. In the meantime, our Sutter County School Districts are working diligently to ensure that all of our students receive a high quality education. SCSOS will continue to offer Distance Learning provided in the home setting via virtual/online electronic platforms (i.e., Google Classroom, Google Meet, ZOOM, etc.) and by telephone through direct instruction and home learning opportunities. In extenuating circumstances, a limited number of work packets may also be made available to families who require low technology or no technology accommodations. To view our SCSOS Implementation of Distance Learning Plan, go to our SCsoS website at www.sutter.k12.ca.us. All of our Sutter County Schools are hoping to be able to return to in-person school as soon as it is safe to do so. Before we can transition to that model, Suter County must not appear on the state monitoring list for 14 days. This list can be found on the California Department of Health website at www.cdph.ca.gov. Stay safe and healthy. Follow all health protocols such as frequent hand washing, wearing a mask and maintaining six feet of distance between yourself and others. We are all in this together; and together we will get through this. Superintendent Tom Reusser Paid for by Sutter Co.
